Hide the pets for a while

Press Control-Option-P, or click the cat in the menu bar and the eye button to put pets away. Control-Option-H hides them for 30 minutes. They also step aside on their own during full-screen apps, calls and quiet hours.

A pet moved into its box

Open the letter from the menu bar panel. Do any of the three things it asks, or do nothing: the pet comes home on its own within 7 days. Nobody ever dies, gets sick or leaves for good.

A pet is on the stool, at the desk or home in its box

That's the pet police or the judge at work. It ends by itself (2 hours at the most), and Let them out ends it now: on the card in the menu bar panel or in SIPD.

Helpers aren't showing up

Open the Helpers app in the menu bar panel and check the helper is on. Calendar and Reminders helpers need access in System Settings › Privacy & Security; SI Pets asks only when one of those helpers is turned on. Helpers stay quiet during calls, full-screen apps and quiet hours unless they're urgent.

Send your own alerts

Use the "Have a pet say" action in Shortcuts, or open a link like sipets://say?text=Build%20passed from any script.

Purchases and license keys

The Full household is bought once; SI Pets Plus includes those benefits while subscribed. You can buy the permanent household while using Plus. Mac App Store: Settings › About › Restore Purchases, and manage Plus in your App Store account. Website: paste the key from your purchase email in Settings › About; each key supports up to 5 active Macs. Deactivate an old Mac there to free its activation, or contact support if you no longer have access to it. Change or cancel Plus from your account.

Moving to a new Mac

SI Pets doesn't sync between Macs. Each Mac keeps its own household and its own backups, and nothing is uploaded to move it. To move, export on the old Mac and import on the new one:

  1. On the old Mac, open Settings › Backups and choose Export my data…. Save the file and take it to the new Mac with AirDrop, a USB drive or iCloud Drive.
  2. On the new Mac, install SI Pets. On the first screen choose "Already use SI Pets on another Mac?" and pick the file. If you already finished setup there, open Settings › Backups and choose Import a household… instead.
  3. SI Pets checks the file, then restarts with your pets, memories and settings. macOS asks again for permissions like Calendar, and folders you picked for helpers need picking again. Buy once on the Mac App Store? Use Settings › About › Restore Purchases. Bought on the website? Paste your key in Settings › About (each key supports up to 5 active Macs).

Your old Mac keeps its own copy, and changes on one Mac never show up on the other. SI Pets also keeps a backup on each Mac every day (the last 7), found in Settings › Backups, where Restore… puts one back and Back up now makes one right away.

Friends

Friends is invite-only. Every friend has Remove, Block and Report. Choose how special deliveries arrive (play them, ask first, only in the panel, or off) in the Friends app › Privacy, and Mute or Report one from its inbox. To leave and delete everything on our server, open the Friends app › Leave Friends and delete my data.

Report something

To report a friend, a display name or a LAN Mode note, use Report in the app. You can also email [email protected] with what you saw and, if you can, the household or display name involved. For a copyright or trademark concern, email the same address with the details; we answer within two working days.

Is my data private?

Yes. See the privacy policy. Pets can't read your messages, email, notifications, screen or keystrokes, and your calendar never leaves your Mac.
